The aptly titled, awful action flick Turbulence is a rough watch. Even by low-budget schlock standards, Turbulence looks too fake in this poorly made, terribly acted story about a married couple experiencing terror on a hot air balloon.

Turbulence plays less like a traditional action thriller and more like a psychological horror love drama, often feeling closer in tone to Fatal Attraction than to a disaster film. The pacing is slow, but purposeful, allowing tension to build through obsession, manipulation, and emotional misdirection rather than constant action. The film deliberately leads the audience toward a sense of romantic safety, only to strip it away in a bleak but effective twist that reinforces the idea that survival does not guarantee a happy ending. Kelsey Grammer delivers a restrained, unsettling performance that anchors the psychological threat, even if his character’s exit feels abrupt. While uneven in places, Turbulence stands out for refusing comfort and leaning into discomfort. Its Fatal Attraction, like undercurrent gives it a darker identity, making it imperfect but memorable.

Scenery can be beautiful but that's about it. The writing is terrible. Wife suddenly becomes an expert on how a hot air balloon works. She also doesn't mind hanging off the side to fix things or climbing up into the balloon to do more fixes. Very disappointed,

Nothing workes here - the 'special effects' are laughable in how terrible they are and the acting is not far behind on the terrible-meter. Predictable plot and could have all been put together by a bunch of film students...maybe it was?
