At a time when very real violence is afflicting the globe, it is sad that advantaged artists can say little more than this. See more Kalissa H. @kali_416 Mar 12 Dystopian done really well. The dystopian world is not explained which is not necessary for this work. The point is the character, not the society itself. I spent the whole film trying to understand the meaning of slapping as payment, the breathing into someone's face when starting work, the garlic gum, the disdain for teeth brushing, and ultimately came away totally befuddled. While aspects of it were striking and engaging, there were so many unanswered questions by the end that it was just a little unfulfilling. Worth the short time it takes to watch it though.
