Critics Consensus

VHYes is a unique film for specific tastes -- and a rare, albeit grimy gift for viewers who can appreciate its retro aesthetic and absurd humor.

Throughout, "VHYes" laces its nostalgia with bitter poison, reminding its audience that even in the carefree couch potato days of 1987, the end-times always loomed.

VHYes is very obviously striving for an Adult Swim brand of absurdity, but there's a reason most of those shows are 15 minutes long.

i love basically every member of the cast, there's a good amount of funny content here, but there isn't quite enough for it to feel like a feature film. i think if it was one part of a series, i'd view it differently, but as one standalone movie it seems to fizzle out just as the jokes really get started.

Great cast, some good bits. Worth watching to see Mark Proksch improvise with Thomas Lennon, and a great live song from Weyes Blood

It works well as an homage to 80's TV. But as a movie: kind of skinny and useless.
