Critics Consensus

Wicker is a charming fable that strikes the right balance between naughty and nice, drawing much of its appeal from deftly deployed salty humor, seamless creature effects, and Olivia Colman's eminently lovable performance.

Ms Colman is great when she is mooching, but even better when she has a smile lighting up her face.

This movie is erotic and earthy but not prurient or grubby. And Alexander Skarsgard’s wicker man? Breathtakingly beautiful.

What could have been a raunchy comedy or a very unsubtle critique of the patriarchy becomes a beautiful and funny adult fable that surpasses all expectations. [Full review in Spanish]

A surprisingly funny film, that isn’t afraid to call out societal ills, this is well worth seeking out at the cinema.

Equal parts dark comedy, unconventional romance and social satire, it’s a film that understands how easily love can become something to be judged, controlled or even punished by those who have never experienced it themselves.

It had some good messages regarding relationship but I had a difficult time with the concept (although it WAS a fable) the sexual part between the wicker man and his wife?!? Good acting though.
