Jonathan Shannon (Ryan Phillippe) gives his 17-year-old daughter Clare (Joey King) an old music box that promises to grant its owner seven wishes. Skeptical at first, Clare becomes seduced by its dark powers when her life starts to radically improve with each wish. Everything seems perfect until she realizes that every wish she makes causes the people who are closest to her to die in violent and elaborate ways.

Now this is one of those movies where it's soooo bad it's good. The main actress plays a clueless dumb teenager wishing for everything no one would wish for. The death scenes instead of being scary were hilarious everyone laughed in the theater. The main character cannot act and the way some people die makes the final destination look like "Hard Candy". I recommend it if you like "B" movies but I do warn you it's as bad as it's gonna get. Also the cinematography was okay some shots you could tell were rushed. The acting is typical for a bad movie and the effects aren't that bad. Overall meh but enjoyable if you're stoned or drunk.

The movie Wish Upon starring Joey king is a really good parasite film about a magical box. I don’t want to say too much more about the movie as to give away its premise and I don’t want to be a spoiler. But the film uh makes this fantasy almost believable and has some valuable lessons within the film also some horrific violence so I would not recommend this film to 12 or under people. The Joey king does a magnificent job in this film getting the message across. I will probably give this film an 8 out of 10 stars.
