Matthew K @MattBlack25 Mar 10 Anyone giving this a one star review, citing a problem with it not being fast paced enough, or bad acting etc. is obviously a part of a brain dead society who's attention spans have been annihilated by social media. This film might not be completely historically accurate, or perfect in every way (what film is?). But the film does have absolutely brilliant pacing, a wonderful cast, sublime cinematography and epic scale, not to mention an inspired, sweeping score by John Barry. The slow build only increases the tension and anticipation for a brilliantly exciting and breathtaking finale. See more Richard T @RT43184268 May 18 Being that my Uncle was a Survivor of Rourkes Drift. And this is Sir Michael Cain First Film. This adaptation is Super close to what Actually Happened. From the Stories my Uncle told us when we were children. Mind you their is a Lot left out. And rightly So. If the movie was to be repaid today, And Mel Gibson was to produce it. You might get a true and accurate Account of what happened and who was there. The Records of the survivors is kept in Australia. And the complete record is in England which should have the number of boys missing from the Australian list. May they Who sacrifice so much for us Rest in peace.
