Movies TV Shows
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) 80% 81/100 EDIT “Proximus Caesar stole the show for me, twisting the original Caesar’s words around to suit him.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 22, 2026 Full Review Fat Albert (2004) 23% 47/100 EDIT “Fat Albert is one of those films lost to the controversies in the passage of time. While this was never a great film, there is something about the kindness that permeates through the film, and through Thompson’s performance, that feels lacking today.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 22, 2026 Full Review One Mile: Chapter One (2026) 64/100 EDIT “The audacity is in believing the world needed a chapter 2, before even seeing Chapter 1. While it lacks the inventiveness of franchises like John Wick, it has enough action to keep you entertained.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 22, 2026 Full Review Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) 90% 81/100 EDIT “It is hard to take your franchise to a crescendo like Fury Road, and then ask people to have the patience for the different methodology behind Furiosa but I respect that Miller was going for a different vibe here, and a different method of storytelling.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Anora (2024) 93% 87/100 EDIT “A loud, boisterous representation of a dream realized.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Do Not Enter (2025) 61/100 EDIT “Do Not Enter is a somewhat goofy teen horror entry, but I found myself oddly entertained in a film with lots of questions and few answers.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Mean Girls (2024) 68% 74/100 EDIT “Rapp is clearly the best singer in the cast, and gets to showcase her talent in anthems like Til Someone Gets Hurt and World Burn. Rapp is the clear standout here.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review 20 Days in Mariupol (2023) 100% 98/100 EDIT “Harrowing footage capturing real chaos, real death, and the ever present sense of an uncertain tomorrow. No one set out to make this, but by keeping the cameras there they captured the devastation, and also the resilience in the face of fear.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review Kings of Venice (2025) 76/100 EDIT “I really enjoyed this lighthearted take on a sport I knew nothing about with its colorful figures. It isn’t a deep documentary about how the world is on fire, but it is entertaining enough.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review Mermaid (2026) 71/100 EDIT “I won’t claim Mermaid is perfect, but it does have its heart in the right place, and features stunning work from McDowell and Soria. Even if it preaches to the choir, the choir should be entertained.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review Truth & Treason (2025) 85% 79/100 EDIT “Truth and Treason oddly hits harder today with its themes, but is also surprisingly more than competent coming from Angel Studios.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review Mr. Burton (2025) 91% 88/100 EDIT “A masterclass from Toby Jones and one of the most emotionally satisfying and classically uplifting films you’ll see this year.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review This Is Not a Test (2025) 43% 48/100 EDIT “If this were a test, it would have failed.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 19, 2026 Full Review Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere (2026) 79% 62/100 EDIT “Inside The Manosphere isn’t that remarkable, often failing to push its subjects to reveal an inner or actual truth, but it does dive into a disturbing counter culture we should all be very afraid of.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 18, 2026 Full Review Thirteen Lives (2022) 85% 58/100 EDIT “It just feels like a competently filmed reenactment. This is one of those based on a true stories that fails to capture the danger or the thrill of the event, from the comfort of our living rooms.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 17, 2026 Full Review 13: The Musical (2022) 60% 71/100 EDIT “I say go for it, especially if you aren’t familiar with the source material. Why commission new songs in place of the old ones that led to the shows success?” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 17, 2026 Full Review Splitsville (2025) 84% 79/100 EDIT “This isn’t your mothers Bob And Carol and ted and Alice, but certainly would be welcomed by anyone looking for a modern take on free love, exploration, and a willingness to seem up for anything even if you aren’t. Special kudos to the stunt coordinator.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 16, 2026 Full Review Paul McCartney: Man on the Run (2025) 100% 79/100 EDIT “A solid documentary for anyone, but certainly for Paul McCartney fans, as well as those looking to consume anything any Beatle ever made.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 15, 2026 Full Review War Machine (2026) 69% 72/100 EDIT “War Machine is a solid and entertaining film. You might say it is more than meets the eye.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 15, 2026 Full Review Melania (2026) 11% 20/100 EDIT “Melania is exactly what you think it is: a very expensive ad for the brand Melania, not so much an exploration of who Melania was, is, or wants to be. ” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 15, 2026 Full Review Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025) 16% 27/100 EDIT “Nonsense. This film may be critic proof, but that doesn’t make it good, nor does it make it coherent.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 14, 2026 Full Review Rental Family (2025) 87% 88/100 EDIT “Rental Family manages to both satisfy the desire to find happiness and connection without shaming those who choose to live independently.A gentle, warm embrace from Brendan Fraser that is greatly under appreciated.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 10, 2026 Full Review The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (2025) 68/100 EDIT “It’s just more SpongeBob for an ever broadening audience, as he is now a brand that parents and kids can enjoy equally. Mark Hamill is an inspired choice to add some flavor.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 8, 2026 Full Review The Bluff (2026) 54% 51/100 EDIT “Any film that encourages me to revisit Cutthroat Island gives me pause, but the Bluff is a good idea never truly allowed to pillage its true potential.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 8, 2026 Full Review Dreams (2025) 52% 29/100 EDIT “If these are your dreams, then what you’re actually having is a nightmare.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 8, 2026 Full Review
