The strengths of the series are numerous, especially when it comes to the parts that feel like a gothic family drama. Go to Full Review

When you get into the third episode, and you realize that you've seen 10 minutes of eight different stories I didn't feel like I had time to get invested in anything. Go to Full Review

I’m sure many will binge the series, happy to ride out the contradictions, the unbalanced timelines, and the sometimes lazy acting, and delight in Kidman’s aura but Scarpetta fans will be a little disappointed. Go to Full Review

I think it's, again, trying to do so much, but I don't know that it knows what it wants to do. So it's just trying some of everything. Go to Full Review

All the ingredients of a blockbuster are here: a stacked cast, well-known director, and big-name producer in Jamie Lee Curtis. Unfortunately, for all its star power, Scarpetta fails on the most basic level: It's just not any fun. Go to Full Review

Bless this mess...While both [Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis] give commendable performances, Liz Sarnoff's show simply doesn't give them enough to bring to life a flat and unbothered season of television. Go to Full Review

Jo C @RT79160396 1h Really enjoyed this. Deliciously gothic genre-defying crime thriller with a whole dysfunctional extended family getting involved. Sinister and dark, it keeps you guessing while it takes you on a twisty, twisted journey through an interwined past and present. Great characters with actors not afraid to dredge the unattractive shades of humankind. Already looking forward to season 2. See more Dave G. @FunkyDaveG 1h Honestly, the murder-ee parts are the only reason for the 2 stars… everything else in Scarpetta became annoying See more Martin D @MartinC 4h It's almost as though no one could really be bothered to make anything that looks authentic. There are some programmes that may take liberties with forensic scenes and maybe have the lead characters not cover their head or face, but Scarpetta takes it too a new level and every man and his dog is able to rummage through the crime scene with just a pair of rubber gloves if they are lucky. In the Autopsy, Scarpetta wears a gown, but everyone else can sit around in their casual clothes, and access to the autopsy room is available to anyone walking past. That the story is laboured with so many plot holes and inconsistencies, it might reach cult levels. Only watch to witness Kidman stock as an actress in freefall decline. See more Emiliano F. @DrAlanGrant 12h Episode 1 is so bad. The writing sucks. The directing is awful and DGG can't keep his cast focused. Jamie Lee Curtis has completely gone off the rails and is acting in a different show. Kidman's eyebrows look like a charcoal smear. And there isn't really even a crime to follow. Skip this. See more John F. @mooovieMan 16h Don’t waste your time on this one. Jamie Lee Curtis shows how horrible she has become as an actress. Absolutely hokey as all can get out and Nicole Kidman TTFN. Enjoy the shark ride. See more Carly M @CarlyHoo 17h Although the sister is over-the-top and annoying, I loved it. I hope there's a season 2. See more Read all reviews
