In a future where ecological disasters have ravaged the agricultural industry, Layla and her husband Jack live in isolation on their struggling cattle farm. While Layla longs for her son who is away at boarding school, Jack experiments with biotechnology that he hopes will save his family from financial ruin. But as unsettling occurrences start to plague the property, their once-loving relationship begins to unravel. The second part turns into an extended chase sequence which is engineered to make the most of the bleak and lonely landscape surrounding the farm, and it has enough twists to delay your inevitable questions about the increasing number of loose ends.

For me, any thriller set in the Australian Outback is terrifying in its remote solace. However, IN VITRO still managed to increase the uneasiness I would already have felt by adding a dystopian sci-fi plot to this location.

For such an inconspicuous production, “In Vitro” is a clever, disturbing sci-fi thriller that invites viewers to ponder the ethical considerations of biotechnology as well as issues of coercive control and domestic abuse.

Frankly, simple — refreshingly so. There’s no need for facile, faux-hip junk like Black Mirror when good films like In Vitro are still getting made.

Did not feel this movie fits with “suspense”… it was very slow and not very interesting. The acting seemed so far off and poor. The trailer gave so much than the movie, had high expectations to watch this yet so disappointed with so many things. Cannot suggest to watch this.

This is a decent thriller with a great atmosphere. It gets right to the chase so there's no waiting around to get to the fun. There are a few plot conveniences that may pull you out of the thrill for awhile, but its generally a fun ride.

I'm Australian and it's always good to see a local product. We have a long history of excellent film making. This movie with a cast of less than 10, was no exception. The plot is futuristic but the better part of the film is about the relationship between the farmer and his 'wife'. Well worth the 90 odd minutes of time. One of the better films I've seen in months.

From the trailer, I expected more from this movie. The overall concept was okay. But the acting was subpar, and the physical altercations were clumsy and not believable. The big reveal happened too early as well...they should have done a better job at leading up to that. Halfway through, I gave up and forwarded to the end, which wasn't really satisfying. Can't recommend this movie and will never watch it again.
