How could her parents be so stupid to invite strange, random and homeless men into their house with young daughters at the home? Why was the mother excluded from the big police welcome and being there to greet Elizabeth after being found? With all the searching in the mountains for months, how did the police not find the teepee and her? However, Elizabeth Smart herself showed bravery, honesty, integrity and hope in her experience and healing. She is an amazing woman and survivor.

Not the best directed or edited Netflix series but the story itself makes for a very worthy watch. Definitely not enough about the man’s wife or partner in crime.

I traveled through Utah with my young family the summer that Elizabeth was kidnapped. We saw her poster in literally every shop, hotel, cafe, gas station. My kids were about the same age as she. We were all fully engrossed in this horrific event and followed updates all summer as we hiked through that area. Because of this personal connection of sorts, I was riveted throughout the film. Definitely a must-see for all Mom's of young girls -- educate them on how to be strong and smart, just like Elizabeth. Learn from Elizabeth's experience and teach your children.
