Made in Korea leaves a lot to be desired as it conveniently tells us a story of struggle... minus the struggle. Go to Full Review

While there is an emotionally satisfying relationship at the center of the film, Made in Korea has too much noise in its subplots to completely satisfy. Go to Full Review

The very existence of such slop is a slap in the face of talented filmmakers who struggle for decades trying to do honest work. This is an insult not only to them, but also to audiences who pay hard-earned money to Netflix every month. Go to Full Review

A lazy excuse of a film made by an inept group of people with no idea what they’re doing. Go to Full Review

Made In Korea has its heart in the right place and the premise feels fitting; it is the execution that falters. Go to Full Review

On paper, this is a premise with real emotional potential. In practice, the film delivers on some of that promise and quietly squanders the rest. Go to Full Review

Sam A @JustSammy 1d I don’t know why people seem to either ignore or dislike this because it’s actually a very nice movie. See more av 8 @RT99530239 2d Sloppy movie. Here comes a Tamil girl who dreams of going to Korea, is shown learning their language, but cannot get a single word across. And how does our dear protagonist get there? Duped by her so-called love interest of nine years and sent off alone on a plane (which she voluntarily boards without waiting for him to even make it to the airport). More shenbafoolery and then she ends up working as Yeon-Ok's caretaker—the granny who is actually not in a coma (you would have never anticipated or discovered the truth). Yeonfoolery and a new restaurant and money issues and K-friends. Also, granny dies and the closing scene is an ultimate emotional showdown with tear-jerking edits of the granny being shown as seated in their little restaurant and slowly losing opacity... until she vanishes from the delulu as she has from trululu too. Adobe Premiere Pro Max Ultimate. Empty characters, empty arcs, flat redemption, but Priyanka did act well. I've not felt more numb watching anything else. Couple of the subplots are rushed through, but the emotional core coupled with the performances make it a good watch. The Korean cast bring a flesh flavor as well. Despite the promising bridge between Tamil cinema and the K drama world, the execution feels hollow. Priyanka Arul Mohan shines in the lead, carrying the film with genuine sincerity. She perfectly captures her character’s wonder and eventual disillusionment. However, her strong performance cannot overcome a poor screenplay that lacks a clear destination. The story wanders through beautiful Seoul locations without a defined purpose, making the middle act feel sluggish. With no clear intention for where the plot is traveling, the stakes feel non existent. While the production quality is high, the lack of narrative focus results in a disjointed experience that fails to live up to its potential. See more Read all reviews
