This is an underdog tale straining so hard to be endearing that it’s more likely to pull a muscle than tug a heartstring. Go to Full Review

Parochial pub-based piffle — like a pint that’s gone a bit flat. But you can’t doubt its sincerity. Go to Full Review

Now, nobody is saying that movies like Mother’s Pride don’t have a place in the wider film circle, for the financial success of Fisherman’s Friends says otherwise. But do they really have to be so, well, naff? Go to Full Review

Nick C @RT44210808 6h Possibly one of the worst and most clichéd movies of all time. A diabolically dreadful script, without any redeeming features - no hint of surprises, twists, or originality - served up as banal pap that was insulting to anyone with the misfortune to buy a ticket. I can only assume AI was asked to write it. See more NEAL H @RT32977520 1d One of the best films we have seen in a long time. The acting was brilliant throughout with all the cast. See more Martin D @Everton1 3d The critics have done this delightful feel good film a disservice. A somewhat simple tale but gently funny in a typically British way. Maybe the jokes were too subtle for your film critics. The audience at my local cinema loved it and clapped at the end. It deserves success See more stephen C @Clappydoodle 3d Took a gamble despite poor reviews by critics & some audience members. Wish I'd heeded their warnings. Not as dire as Fackham Hall, but pretty lame. Lame script ("I've been sectioned" was the low point), lame storyline, lame jokes, lame romantic subplot. Overacting by Jonno Davies. Irritating cockney accents in Somerset- why? Unnecessary bad language. Left the cinema after 30 minutes. See more John K @RT68186842 4d Loved it, good storyline, predictable but believable See more Sam R @Samrust89 4d Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed fisherman’s friends and this is the same level of quirky British humour with realistic family and village difficulties that are both endearing and relatable. Anyone slating it for being "predictable" have no understanding of why films like these are more important to the larger population than any blockbuster could be. See more Read all reviews
