In a system corrupted by politics, greed and sex, there's an honest man in Buffalo who's made it his life's mission to hold his peers accountable. Dean Alessi is an attorney in Buffalo's Lawyer Disciplinary Office who fights for justice, even as he battles his own personal demons. Dean took an oath to protect the public from bad lawyers, and is willing to risk everything to keep that sacred promise. As the bodies pile up, Dean puts his own life on the line when he disobeys orders to expose a corrupt District Attorney who has committed the ultimate ethical wrong -- murder.

By the time One of the Good Ones reaches the endgame, it’s a grimy, straight-ahead corruption story where the question isn’t whether the system is dirty. The real quandary is what it costs the one guy trying to scrub it clean. Go to Full Review

Alan A @Alan777 3d Very different than most movies in that watching it is consistantly filled with lots of fun with unusual twists. The characters are fabulous and the person who directed them must have a great sense of humor and a great sense of what the audience will appreciate. I'd certainly recommend One of the Good Ones to enjoy a film that makes you smile. This movie is 'actually' one of the good ones. See more R T @RT54044781 Mar 15 Very Entertaining and the bad guy D A was funny and he pretty much staels the show See more Mimi A @Mimsie Mar 15 This movie was very entertaining and enjoyable. It was a subject that was truly interesting, encompassing both humor and a touch of authenticity. The director and actors did an outstanding job! See more Binary S @RT38997053 Mar 10 "One of the Good Ones" tells the story of a decent lawyer (Tom Paolino/Dean) who is digging around the questionable antics of the skeevy local D.A., but he's also trying to be decent with everything else, as he deals with a personal life that is far from settled. There is even a love interest in the plot that takes on a level of adult maturity often missing from stories like this. There are chuckles sprinkled along the way, which in my view, is a great way to balance some of the more serious drama of the story. This will become VERY apparent when a batch of baked Ziti becomes an important plot device in the film. This film showcases the talents of Tom Paolino, and writer/director/producer Julie O’Hora crafted a taut 84-minute narrative that moves the story along with genuine confidence. The supporting actors are also very strong. As a connoisseur of indie films, this one hits just right, and was an enjoyable watch from start to finish! See more Susan H @Sue47 Mar 8 This movie has it all! There is comedy, there is drama, there is action, there is even a little romance! Some serious topics, like corruption and alcoholism are handled very well, with great writing and acting. Overall, I think this is great entertainment that can be enjoyed by anyone.
