Sam P @RT59792805 2d Three episodes in, and it’s becoming clear to me that not only is this story not just "about married couples in the suburbs, exploring a dating app", or simply a murder mystery. This, like all great dramatic writing in the history of humankind is a deep study of human nature. And as we observe, and react to one revelation after another about these characters, we too are part of that study. With all of our biases, prejudices, judgments, and knee jerk reactions on full display. In my opinion, our modern society, particularly in the United States doesn’t know what to do with a kind, caring soul like Floyd. Unencumbered by any perceived need to measure up to society’s definition of a "real man", he is free to be simply and beautifully human. Remaining episodes may, of course change my understanding. But i’m thoroughly enjoying watching our hero ‘plumb’ our dark recesses :) See more James I @RT22555075 3d As reluctant as I was to commit to this series (I get a little tired of Bateman being Bateman), I was completely sucked in by David Harbour and Linda Cardellini. And, dare I admit it, Bateman is pretty great in this series. The storyline is so interesting and new that I'm mesmerized and can't wait for the next installment. I can't forget to mention Richard Jenkins and Arlan Ruf that plays the stepson... standouts in their respective rolls. Now let's talk Joy Sunday as the local detective... her ability to depict her character's 'thinking, evaluating mind is a brilliant exercise in restraint and control in the face of the ultra-male domination of Jenkins character, to the point that Jenkins looks a little bumbling and incompetent. I love that about this show. One 'slow blink or turn of the head, and she controls the whole investigation. See more Denise H @Dnh00 3d This show is unwatchable. I LOVE all the main actors in everything they've ever done, but I guess this show must be entertaining for a very small sliver of the population, like married people who fantasize about cheating or something?
