TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 3d Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie is a drama with important subject matter, but it struggles badly, feeling emotionally disconnected and frustrating. Instead of immersing the audience, it feels focused on narrative points rather than storytelling. Instead of immersion, it prioritizes narrative beats over storytelling. The screenplay is rushed and uneven, with weak emotional authenticity and little momentum. Performances are flat, making it harder to connect emotionally. Overall, the film had potential but fails to deliver emotional weight or cohesion. It ends up feeling more like a missed opportunity than a meaningful retelling of the real-life inspired story. The film struggles to balance message and storytelling, leaving key emotional moments underdeveloped and ultimately failing to engage the viewer. Though based on important subject matter, it never fully captures the emotional truth or urgency needed, resulting in a film that feels shallow and incompletefilm See more Cindee P @Cindee781 Jan 4 Good acting from main character., who I don't recall seeing before this movie. I appreciate having the topic of Black women and sex trafficking, being addressed. It rarely gets attention. Good job! See more Kat Q @RT49948663 Oct 29 Applause to Garcelle Beauvais and the actors in this Lifetime movie. For a Lifetime movie I felt that the acting was quite good. I cared about the main characters. There were a few things that were inconsistent with a real situation like the police officer walking out of his office and leaving sensitive information unlocked on his computer for the college counselor to photo. The bodyguard at the abduction campus allowing the counselor to walk into the abductees trailers alone and without verification she was ok'd to be there. But suspending those fopahs It was a good story that needs to be told. See more Beauty B @RT56444278 Oct 20 So bad I didn't finish it. Do not recommend. I love to see representation of people of color and how powerful it is to have academic counselors who see you. I think everyone should watch this movie, this is based on true events. The director did a great job, the cast was amazing and definitely can’t wait to see what’s in store for the director on his next film. A must see everyone. See more Read all reviews
