Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Boys stays true to its form and completes its mission with ample panache, narrative pay-off, and an excess of blood and guts to deviously glorious effect.

While the political satire doesn’t always land, diabolism prevails -- The Boys will be The Boys.

The Boys’ latest comeback is proving to be promising, though, in a way that bodes well for the conclusion of a series that once felt profane, fresh, and exciting. Go to Full Review

The show’s fifth and final season has a familiar structure... But it stays strong – there’s even more gore and screw-loose social media commentary. Go to Full Review

C.S.R T @Uyghiii 6h Hands-down worst season of them all. I thought for sure they would go out on a high note, but boy was wrong! It really is shocking how bad it is, what a waste of time! Almost everyone involved in this should be ashamed of themselves. See more Hill S @Ohmyhicjlk 15h In episode 6, they seemed to tone down the politics. But I think it all ends a bit chaotically. We'll see what happens next. See more Jerry M @QuixoticPizza 1d This show has turned into such heavy handed allegory that it makes it practically unwatchable. Considering that none of these plot lines are from the comics, its basically just left wing propaganda or at the very least a middle finger to those on the political right. Its not subtle or clever and relies on a certain world view to even be considered as satire. See more alex J @RT55806313 2d The new season is sooo boring, last season was about politics but in this one, gosh it's a nightmare, visibly they are running out of money. first seasons was action/thriller and of course the urge to watch another episode when it wasn't out yet. Season 4 was mostly skip forward a couple minutes every episode, season 5 is skip half the episode or almost all of it to just see something valuable because instead of action it's watching a Kardashian show, literally one of the most pointless seasons. I can't wait until the last episode and an end to this waiting because visibly they are running out of ideas and money! See more Paul B @OddBurton 3d How is this series supposed to wrap up in just three hours? Homelander still isn’t facing any real threat. The only thing other supes seem to fear is their leader and now there's another ultra-powerful immortal supe in the room. The Boys keeps recycling the same futile storyline it’s been spinning since the first episode, with barely any meaningful progress toward a resolution. The pacing this season feels off, and the subplots come across more as distractions than contributions to the main story. At this point, the constant "woe is me, it’s my fault, can’t we find a nonviolent solution?" angle feels exhausted—it’s been dragging down character development for five seasons. Hughie remains annoying as hell, and the core issue with the show has always been the same: how do you defeat a superhero/villain who has no vulnerabilities? I'm legit worried the end of this series is going to be lame. See more anthony A. @ANTHCNY 3d Fun in a dystopian world… like ours. See more Read all reviews
