The Butcher's Blade (2026) B EDIT “The plot gets bogged down in convoluted details of jurisdictions and hierarchies, but the real draw is the kinetic action staged by director Liu Wenpu.” – Crooked Marquee May 5, 2026 Full Review The Activist (2025) C EDIT “The bland declaratory title is an indicator of the dry talking points in this well-meaning but inert Lithuanian drama.” – Crooked Marquee May 5, 2026 Full Review Salt Along the Tongue (2024) B EDIT “It's tough to say precisely what happens in this dreamlike Australian horror movie, but that off-kilter vibe is exactly what writer-director Parish Malfitano is going for.” – Crooked Marquee May 5, 2026 Full Review The Fuzzies (2025) B- EDIT “The practical effects in this horror movie are so good that it's a shame the writing and performances aren't up to their standards.” – Crooked Marquee May 5, 2026 Full Review Scarborn (2023) C+ EDIT “For international viewers, Scarborn feels like an extended footnote, ending just as the main action is about to get underway.” – Crooked Marquee May 5, 2026 Full Review Hokum (2026) 88% 3.5/5 EDIT “McCarthy creates a unique world of the supernatural, and Hokum is the most immersive trip there thus far.” – Tom's Guide May 2, 2026 Full Review Animal Farm (2025) 27% 1/4 EDIT “By distorting Orwell's novella to make it theoretically accessible to a modern audience of youngsters, Serkis and Stoller have drained it of any meaningful message, while also failing to create a movie that kids might actually want to watch.” – The Inlander (Spokane, WA) Apr 30, 2026 Full Review Over Your Dead Body (2026) 68% 2/4 EDIT “Tones down some of the previous film's more cartoonish edgelord tendencies, but still offers plenty of over-the-top violence, framed by an underwhelming story of estranged spouses reassessing their relationship.” – The Inlander (Spokane, WA) Apr 23, 2026 Full Review The Wolf and the Lamb (2026) C EDIT “The dialogue is full of awkwardly ornate old-timey speech, which none of the actors can convincingly pull off, and the setting rings just as false.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 21, 2026 Full Review Itch! (2024) 82% C EDIT “Listlessly plays out its predictable zombie scenario, with minimal creativity and no sense of direction.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 21, 2026 Full Review Cherri (2025) C EDIT “A largely inscrutable character study about an uninteresting character, this Cuban drama is sometimes stylish but mostly inert.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 21, 2026 Full Review Ballistic (2025) 69% B- EDIT “Lena Headey digs into the role of a grief-stricken, vengeance-seeking mother in this uneven drama, which isn’t quite equipped to handle all the big issues it takes on.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 21, 2026 Full Review All That's Left of You (2025) 100% 3/4 EDIT “There's righteous anger about the occupation of Palestine and the mistreatment of its people, but there's also grace and dignity, which is its own form of protest.” – The Inlander (Spokane, WA) Apr 16, 2026 Full Review Thinestra (2025) B- EDIT “The plot is lacking, but the vibes are on point.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 7, 2026 Full Review Screams From the Tower (2024) C EDIT “The supporting performances are fun, and Grant has a strong eye for period detail, but his main character sucks up all the energy.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 7, 2026 Full Review Heads or Tails? (2025) 89% B- EDIT “John C. Reilly's take on Buffalo Bill as a genial, bloviating huckster is the best thing about this movie, which suffers during the long stretches when he's offscreen.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 7, 2026 Full Review I Know Exactly How You Die (2026) C EDIT “Rian is a pathetic whiner who doesn’t seem to understand the basics of writing, and the movie is as disjointed and unsatisfying as his rushed novel.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 7, 2026 Full Review Papa Bear (2025) D EDIT “No kids in any nation deserve to be subjected to this abysmal Russian family comedy.” – Crooked Marquee Apr 7, 2026 Full Review The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026) 42% 1.5/4 EDIT “Viewers who love being able to point at things they recognize will no doubt be pleased.” – The Inlander (Spokane, WA) Apr 2, 2026 Full Review A Magnificent Life (2025) 60% 2/4 EDIT “Marcel Pagnol may have had a magnificent life, but the movie about him is disappointingly ordinary.” – The Inlander (Spokane, WA) Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Blazing Fists (2025) C EDIT “It's all played for maximum melodrama, and the fight scenes are mediocre, without any forward momentum.” – Crooked Marquee Mar 24, 2026 Full Review Videotheque (2024) C+ EDIT “Bursac is good at mimicking the look and structure of his influences, but he falls short on narrative substance.” – Crooked Marquee Mar 24, 2026 Full Review INT. HALLWAY / NIGHT (2026) C- EDIT “Rather than deal directly with his characters' emotional conflicts, Zane abstracts them into meaninglessness.” – Crooked Marquee Mar 24, 2026 Full Review Golden (2025) C EDIT “Brian Austin Green doesn't have the grit or the charisma to play a roguish counterfeiter, and he gives an inert performance in an inert movie.” – Crooked Marquee Mar 24, 2026 Full Review Project Hail Mary (2026) 94% 2.5/4 EDIT “The filmmakers exchange scientific rigor for crowd-pleasing simplicity, crafting a solid piece of mainstream entertainment that's not quite as smart as it makes itself out to be.” – The Inlander (Spokane, WA) Mar 19, 2026 Full Review
