The stylised visual palette speaks to Maul’s tortured extremes, which is helpful because the writing doesn’t add a great deal to a character who has most often been a menacing adversary. It’s one for the dedicated fans. Go to Full Review

This latest retread doesn’t meaningfully expand on the Star Wars mythos or take it to new places, but it is a largely well-executed genre romp that’s elevated by Lucasfilm Animation’s honed aesthetic chops. Go to Full Review

It’s a well-made entry, better than some of the live-action films. Plus it’s always a good time when you can watch Stormtroppers and their devious ilk get their butts kicked. Go to Full Review

Star Wars has already made Maul more interesting than this, and Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Season 1 too often settles for the safest version of him. Go to Full Review

In an era where television rarely gets enough time to unspool, it’s particularly enjoyable to watch an entire season (even a 10-episode one) center on a single question: What will bring Devon around to Maul’s teachings? Go to Full Review

Maul – Shadow Lord is what fans were hoping for, a non-stop thrill ride, with one of our favourite Star Wars characters causing a ruckus only in a way he can. This is a series every fan should tune in to. Go to Full Review

Eric S @RT27117716 12h Really surprised, thought the show was great with emotion, great voice acting, the coolest and most interesting female star wars character and Vader was awesome. 10/10 - See more M W G @RT87427849 14h The old Star Wars is back. Dave Filoni is going in the correct direction that George Lucas had for the sequel trilogy. See more Rick O @RT28474671 15h An incredibly hyped series. I watched it and couldn't understand why. The active promotional campaign began several weeks before the release, and some bloggers were already "qualified" to conclude from the trailer that it would be a "masterpiece." Now everything has fallen into place: The Mandalorian and Grogu are rumored to be a colossal flop, so the cunning marketers decided to push a less expected but more reliable project to the limit. Maul: Shadow Lord isn't particularly memorable. Yes, there's Maul and that cute little Jedi girl with the facial features of a grown woman. See more Cornelius F @RT51798445 15h This is one of the best pieces of Star Wars created since Episode 3. The antihero Maul and his pain and suffering are really well shown in this and the animation is just amazing See more Petr H @RT82928067 16h This is what we all wanted to see: our beloved legendary characters in an epic showdown with the legendary Sith Lord himself. The voice acting was top of a line, as always. Legendary Sam Witwer brought our beloved former Sith Lord to a time where all of us had the same questions: Did he meet this person or that person? What was he up to during this period? I can’t express enough love and support for this. It is truly one of the top three animated shows of all time. The visuals are stunning, the voice acting is legendary, and none of the characters feel like bland strangers with power complexes or no history. 10/10. Thank you, Sam and Dave, for making this real, and I hope and pray you continue this legendary endeavor. See more dimitar G @RT38534004 17h Amazing best thing after 1,2 seasons of Mandalorian!
