Setting a horror movie in a cinema is nothing new, of course, but I like how the moviegoers in Lamberto Bava’s Demons–these marks, these fools–have been sucked into the freak tent without even having been mesmerized there by an able barker.

Demons is a surprisingly enjoyable dive into 80s splatter horror. The story kicks off when a group of strangers attends a mysterious movie premiere, only to find themselves trapped in a theater as demonic infections turn audience members into bloodthirsty monsters. If you’re after heaps of fake blood, delightfully over-the-top acting, and every wonderfully cheesy 80s trope, this is your film. Fans of Braindead, Re-Animator, and Basket Case will love the violence, chaotic gore and pulpy fun—horror that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but delivers maximum thrills. Much better more fun than anticipated!

The first 20 minutes or so are undeniably great (beautiful, unnerving, and mysterious) but at a certain point it's basically just zombie movie cliches running amok in a movie theater. Not that the movie ever gets boring but it always feels like there should be something more here.

Um filme bem datado dos anos 80 sem pretensões nenhuma nem nexo no seu roteiro. Como muitos filmes da época que na verdade só queriam assustar e jorrar sangue. Temos boas maquiagens e efeitos práticos.
