From Golden Bear winner Radu Jude, DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM THE END OF THE WORLD takes a fierce and darkly comic swipe at modern day life. Overworked and underpaid production assistant Angela (Ilinca Manolache) is assigned to film a workplace safety video for a multinational corporation in Bucharest. When one of the interviewees makes a statement that ignites a scandal, Angela has to re-invent the story. Featuring appearances from Nina Hoss, Uwe Boll, and Angela's TikTok alter-ego Bobiță, Jude's anarchic satire is a wild and unforgettable ride through the vulgar indignities of the 21st century.

Do Not Expect constantly demands and foregrounds the moments of contemplation. And in those many, many scenes of Angela focused on the road, trying to stay awake as she moves from place to place, he has found the perfect vehicle.

If you come from a random country in the world, one that most people cannot accurately place on a map; if you were born after the 90s and can't find solid ground to stand firmly on, this is exactly how your life feels: Ironic, isolated, angering, with little moments of empathy scattered between the eternal never ending grind of life. You can't slow down to really help people, but sometimes you gotta stick it to the man. This is peak Metamodernism. 10/10

Nihilistic film with nothing to say. Critics say it's about hating on capitalism. But I don't see that. I see an angry woman who hates her life. Best scenes in the movie were her banging the guy. Such a terrible movie.
