Though Goofy always means well, his amiable cluelessness and klutzy pratfalls regularly embarrass his awkward adolescent son, Max. When Max's lighthearted prank on his high-school principal finally gets his longtime crush, Roxanne, to notice him, he asks her on a date. Max's trouble at school convinces Goofy that he and the boy need to bond over a cross-country fishing trip like the one he took with his dad when he was Max's age, which throws a kink in his son's plans to impress Roxanne.

This movie is excellent for the little ones up through the preteen years. They'll like the slapstick, the wild and wacky antics of a cartoon cross-country adventure and Max's quest to be cool at school.

Although A Goofy Movie resurrects a major character of the Disney short cartoons of the 30s-50s - the gormless canine star, Goofy - viewers expecting a nostalgic recreation of the old-fashioned, small-town world he once lived in are in for a shock.

A Goofy Movie is a fun in all the right ways. Hilarious at the right moments and heart warming when it needs to be. A simple story of a father trying to reconnect with his son, with cartoon antics attached to it.

A Goofy Movie is a true classic. I remember thinking it was such a great movie because Max was a cool character. Max Goof tells his crush, Roxanne, that he’s going to a Powerline concert in Los Angeles—but Goofy surprises him by taking him on a cross-country fishing road trip instead. Max argues with his dad because he’s embarrassed by Goofy’s goofy nature, afraid of becoming like him, and frustrated as a teenager trying to impress Roxanne. The conflict grows throughout the trip, but in the end, it becomes a really meaningful and heartfelt movie.
