Hellfire works just fine in its respect for the genre and classical sensibilities, but one longs to see an old talent like Florentine get back to the more filling meat and potatoes that elevated his films in the first place. Go to Full Review

A Western-shaped moral reckoning, executed with craft, patience, and a controlled burn that turns to true hellfire exactly when it should. Go to Full Review

A small town action thriller that tells a familiar story in a familiar setting about familiar characters facing a familiar dilemma. But (Stephen) Lang makes anything watchable. And supporting turns from Harvey Keitel and Dolph Lundgren add to the fun. Go to Full Review

Reliable DTV action director Isaac Florentine pulls off a couple of decent action sequences, but Lang is no Scott Adkins, and the combat is more rote than dynamic. Go to Full Review

Darren S @RT99585040 4d I only watched this because it was Stephen Lang. Unfortunately he couldn't turn this into anything other than a weak film. The plot and script have been written a thousand times. The acting was wooden and the action was awful. This is two hours of my life that I will never get back. See more tm11999 M @tm11999 5d great action flick from tough guy fixes it heaven. those naysayers that don't understand entertainment are plainly just sissies. lang, dolph, and harvey keitel are perfect. the thompson girl is a very nice and appealing old lady too. watch this and relax for an hour and a half. The writing seems half done. I laughed at some scenes in this non comedy. Plot... Drugs distributed from a small town with the drug lords son being an arrogant loud mouth for no reason which makes the protagonist pull up his big boy pants. Just a silly premise where the town folk are treated like slaves. Not that you feel it, but it was part of the dialog. Do dumb. 1.5/5.0 because it might be fun while drunk or high with friends. See more R T @Cooper868 Mar 9 it might be your favorite movie ever, if you have never watched any show or movie beforehand. wasted budget and actors on this AI slop of a movie. not a single line of dialogue that couldnt be predicted by a 9 year old, this feels like something that would win awards if it was made 20 years ago, and for a school project. See more Guillaume R @Guillaume171 Mar 7 To start, the movie properly breaks the record of the most numerous production logo displayed before the movie itself, 8 I think Which makes us anticipate quite a big production. Which is not the case. The film is quite average at all levels. The acting, especially the main villain and the story itself are very poor. The story, involving a kind of veteran walking along the road on its own, like a tramp, and not welcomed by the sheriff of a small rural village. Rings any bells ? Then villains show up, threat the population and the veteran, skilled by years of experience as Special Force, takes things personally. Dejà vu, dejà vu, one hundred of times. So nothing new here. It is a very cheap production and it shows : the scene of combat from the real war has been shoot in the neighbouring forest. I dont know why it is so cheap, despite 8 productions companies behind it and 2 famous actors. Probably the director was not too inspired and once again it shows badly. See more Read all reviews
