Those reviews that complained it was “woke” don’t understand that it WAS all about domineering religious zealots persecuting and torturing women, it actually was. See more Esra Y @RT95409318 20h Uses it's running time cleverly. I wish more movies were like this in the current mainstream landscape which every single movie is over 2 and half hour. Those who claim movie is woke clearly doesn't have even one piece of knowledge about history of witch hunting and burning women alive. See more Troy M @TroyMuni 5d Starts off really strong. Early on, I started thinking this may be the closest anyone's gotten to recreating The Witch. Then the wheels start falling off and the story devolves into your typical girl power, men are evil, agenda driven slop. It's a real shame because the acting and atmosphere were great. Such a waste of talent and effort. This could've been great if it just remained focused on the horror and plot elements of the actual story.
