A year after running over a fisherman and dumping his body in the water, four friends reconvene when Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) receives a frightening letter telling her that their crime was seen. While pursuing who he thinks is responsible for the letter, Barry (Ryan Phillippe) is run over by a man with a meat hook. The bloodletting only increases from there, as the killer with the hook continues to stalk Julie, Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.).

This is a movie that takes the slasher genre and does something unique and unexpected. It's not just a killer after as many people as he can get, it's a killer after a specific group of people because they did something wrong. This leads him to kill more people in his path and in his way of the main group. It's a cool, inventive, and original way to make a slasher horror movie. I also thought that since the cast of characters was small, all of them felt very fleshed out, interesting, and likable. None of the characters got on my nerves and I found each character's point of view interesting. I also love that this movie is a product of its time. I love the late 90s/early 2000s vibes. In this case, the fact that it's old adds to my enjoyment of the movie. Overall, this is a fun slasher film that does something unique and cool with the genre. If you like slashers, ya gotta watch this movie!

The movie was OK, I guess. But what really got me was that it did not follow the story line at all that was originally in the book, it was like a completely different story. I do not recommend this movie if you have read the book, it is a real disappointment if you have. For the people who like slasher movies than good this is perfect for you, the actors are great. But the original story was NOT a slasher film. My advice is to read the book first. Sorry to the people who like this movie but this is just my honest opinion.✌️

I know what you did last summer is a great horror movie when I first watched it around 7th or 8th grade I know what you did last summer is even better than scream just watch the movie and you will know this is better than scream trust me.
