Between the great casting, the beautiful Churchill Downs backdrop and, of course, the apt timing of the film, which drops the same weekend as the 2026 Kentucky Derby, it’s a great entry in the Hallmark canon. Go to Full Review

As a Hallmark entry, Kentucky Roses delivers a familiar, formula-driven romance anchored by the iconic Churchill Downs. The setting provides much of the film’s strength, offering atmosphere and visual authenticity that often outweigh the narrative itself. Go to Full Review

Suzanne V @SIOUXSPUR 4d I'm sorry I did not really care for this movie, now it started out promising, the backdrop of the Kentucky Derby made the story unique and different. What ruined it for me was the casting of Odette Annable as Sadie! Her performance was "wooden" and lacked the "warmth" typical of traditional Hallmark leads. She seemed irritated at the most minor things too, petty arguments! And when Sadie was dancing with Ash it should have been the perfect time to see the romantic feelings catching fire, but Odette just went about it as though she was on her way to a dental appointment, just very stoic, suppressing any emotion. She just made the character UNLIKEABLE ! The only time Sadie gets excited or seems happy is when something good happens that's connected with the floral business. Andrew Walker gave a good performance, but I sensed no real chemistry between the two leads, more like the were very distant acquaintances. Just an overall blah movie!
